Omana’s son Ajay Pradeep, who starred opposite MGR in ‘Genoa’, is a film college student. His father Krishnan was one of the foremost photographers of Tamil Nadu. Ajay Pradeep, who has worked as an assistant to veteran cinematographer KS Prasad, has directed numerous commercials and government and other documentaries. Currently he has announced that he is going to direct Ponni’s Selvan movie. Produced by Srinidhi Ajay, the film is produced by Eternity Star and Eternity Motion Craft Hub Pvt. Ltd. Leading actors from different languages will play the lead roles in the film. This All India film is available in five languages.
The director said that the web series will have 153 episodes in 12 seasons. Apart from that, the film will be released in three parts in two years. It is also to be dubbed in foreign languages. Musician Ilayaraja composes the music for the film, while Sabu Cyril does the art direction and production design. Anthony will do the editing work. Viswanath Sundaram and Shanmugavel of Bhagwati fame design the paintings. Ajay Pradeep has said that he is proud to announce the official announcement of the film today (January 17), MGR’s birthday.
As a submission to the MGR, all three posters have been released. He is featured in these posters in the roles of Arulmozhivarman and Vandiyadhevan, the ambitious characters that MGR wanted to play. Ajay Pradeep said, “This masterpiece is dedicated to Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi, the undisputed writer of Tamil Cinema. I submit this work to MGR, the two great personalities of Tamil cinema, and the director Ajay Pradeep, who thinks that the artist is his psychic guru.
