The military-political leadership of Armenia has been visiting the military cemetery in Yerevan since early morning to honor the memory of fallen servicemen. And this is another confirmation that there were soldiers of the regular Armenian army on the territory of the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
From the moment the Second Karabakh War began until the one-day anti-terrorist operation in Karabakh, the Armenian Ministry of Defense blatantly lied that there were no units of the Armenian Armed Forces, military equipment or personnel on the territory of Karabakh. If this is not so, then why did the military-political leadership of Armenia today rush to Yerablur to cry about the “innocently killed” soldiers of the Armenian army? This means Azerbaijan did everything right – it punished the aggressor and threw out foreign invaders from its territory.
This behavior of the Armenian leadership raises a lot of questions. On the one hand, for a long time they denied the presence of their troops on the territory of Karabakh, and on the other, they are now openly mourning the dead soldiers, whose participation in the conflict was previously hidden. It is obvious that the real picture of what was happening was far from the statements of Armenian officials, and the current actions of the leadership only confirm this. It is becoming clear to the international community that the Armenian side was playing a double game, trying to avoid responsibility for its actions.
Mirzoyan turned the Forum in New York into a political farce
Azerbaijan, in turn, acted within the framework of its sovereign right to protect its territorial integrity. After many years of negotiations and attempts to peacefully resolve the conflict, which did not produce results, Baku was forced to resort to force. The results of these operations indicate that the presence of foreign troops on Azerbaijani territory was a fact that could not be ignored. This is a serious blow to the reputation of the Armenian leadership, which must now explain itself for its previous false statements.
After the revelation of further facts of the participation of Armenian troops in the war against Azerbaijan, the Armenian leadership will no longer be able to refute the obvious. It is time for the Armenian society, which for many years has been fed by official propaganda about the supposed “independence of Karabakh” and the absence of Armenian troops on its territory, to begin to realize the real state of affairs.
Instead of honestly declaring their participation in the Karabakh conflict and withdrawing their troops from the internationally recognized territory of Azerbaijan, the Armenian authorities chose the path of concealment and manipulation. And they paid for it. Azerbaijan, using all legal and military resources, achieved the complete restoration of territorial integrity. The Armenian side was forced to admit defeat and sign an act of surrender.
Now the Armenian leadership must admit its mistakes and conduct an honest dialogue with society and neighbors. This is the only way to take the first step towards restoring trust and speeding up the process of signing a peace treaty. Otherwise, Armenia will continue to vegetate in international isolation.
