Luxembourg City’s restoration continues to get poorer. Comptoir Bohême, owned by the same owners as Strogoff, a restaurant on Place de Paris that closed last October, will also close its doors, Virgule reported on Monday.

The restaurant, located on rue Eugène Ruppert, in Cloche d’Or, is the last of the Mazelier Group to close its doors. According to the CommaComptoir Bohème recorded losses of 875 thousand euros in 2022, having accumulated a colossal debt in recent years.

Due to financial difficulties, restaurant employees have had unpaid wages since the beginning of the year, said the same source. The establishment had already faced some problems when opening in the summer of 2021, as it suffered significant damage following the July floods.

This week, two auctions will be held with the aim of paying off the debt. Strogoff, which opened in 2017 and closed last year, had also recorded debts of around half a million euros in both 2021 and 2022.

Petit Bohème and Homard Bleu, belonging to the Mazelier Group, have also been closed for a few months.
