Another Sri Lankan cricketer dropped from the India series. Pacer Nuan Thushara broke his fingers during practice on Wednesday night. With that, he is not playing any more T20 series against India at home.

Mahinda Halangoda, manager of the Sri Lankan cricket team, said that the fingers of Thushara’s bowling hand were not broken. However, as it is a serious injury, he has been removed from the squad for the T20 series. He broke his finger during fielding practice.

Dushmanthe Chamira was ruled out of the T20 series yesterday due to illness. Asitha Fernando was taken into the team instead. Dilshan Madushank can replace Thushara in the team.

Thushara was the regular face of the Sri Lankan team this year. He was the best bowler of the Lankans in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He took 8 wickets in three matches. He also scored a hat-trick in the T20 against Bangladesh earlier this year.

The T20 series against India will start from July 27 at Pallekele. The remaining two matches will be played on July 28 and 30 at the same venue. The ODI series will start from August 2 in Colombo. The remaining two matches of the series will be held on August 4 and 7 at the same venue.
