ANOTHER VICTORY

It wasn’t a good game for Inter in Novo Hamburgo, although the result was peaceful and guaranteed the advantage for Grenal.

Inter started like other games with the starting team, slow, with long passes and with the aggravating factor of the team being inattentive, unfocused.

By far it was not the team that played against Brazil in midweek. The goal came from a loose marking by Renê at the cross and a hesitation by Vitão in the physical confrontation with the attacker. It’s not new that Brazilian defenders suffer from heavy and tall attackers, see Diego Souza’s longevity, but Vitão should be, at the very least, closer to the attacker.

Following the game, also, with Mercado, he struggled to avoid the attacker’s dominance. Coudet chose to leave the marking to the defenders, without bringing the midfielder closer to the fight, and rightly so, given that Novo Hamburgo is not very dangerous. The team remained inattentive, Vitão passed a ball at the attacker’s foot, and then there was a corner kick that made Anthoni make two or one great save, as I don’t know if he touched the ball before the post.

The team started looking for more then, and Renê took advantage of the defense’s inattention, launching Enner who found Alan Patrick free in the middle of the area. The turning point came with Enner again, poorly marked, dominated and gave the goalkeeper a shot without a chance.

Inter still suffered a couple of attacks from Novo Hamburgo, but Coudet didn’t change the defensive structure, leaving the marking with just 3 men and a well-advanced midfielder.

In the second half, already vaccinated, Inter controlled the game and became more attentive to the advances of Novo Hamburgo, who tried to react, but were soon controlled by the midfield and defense. The attack continued to create, but NH was well positioned defensively, and preferred not to risk attacking with more people.

The third goal came in a beautiful exchange of passes, culminating in Wanderson’s finish, almost inside the goal.

Bruno Henrique has stood out a lot from the middle forward, and has shown a lot of desire in marking. I still have concerns about his intensity, but he is carving out a place in the team with his performances, especially with a very accurate pass.

Alario is a good finisher, he showed this, and knows how to position himself in the area, he still needs harmony and game rhythm, he still seems to be in a lower rotation, which suggests leaving the place for Maurício, with Alan Patrick further forward, as we played last year .

Inter has strengthened in recent days, with Wesley and Bruno Gomes, and there is hope that Borré will arrive before March 7th. The search for a more fixed midfielder and a left-back continues, although, without any information, purely on shooting, I see Coudet testing Bruno Gomes as a left-back.

Apart from Borré, I don’t see any change in the starting lineup, except with the possible arrival of Tiago Maia.

Now it’s time to test the team against stronger teams, especially the defensive system.
