Michał Bryl and Bartosz Łosiak advanced to the semi-finals of the Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 beach volleyball tournament, which takes place in Uberlandia, Brazil. In the quarter-finals, the Poles defeated the Americans Trim Bourne and Chaim Schalk 2:0 (21:13, 21:15).
It was the first match between a Polish duo and a duo from the USA.
Bryl and Łosiak started the meeting very well. After just a few actions, our volleyball players were leading 5:1. Poles in the early parts of the set were doing very well in the block. Suffice it to say that with the score 11:6, the Biało-Czerwoni could already boast of four successful actions that stopped the rivals’ inclinations.
The Americans tried to reduce the loss in the second part of the set, but each time they managed to gain two points in a row, they lost the same amount in a moment. As a result, this part of the match ended with Michał and Bartosz winning 21:13.

The second set started as well for the Poles as the first – the mistakes of the rivals, good blocking and a difficult serve allowed our volleyball players to score as many as six points in a row (7:2).
The Americans had absolutely no idea how to make up for their losses. They made a lot of mistakes, had problems with finishing the action, and although the White-and-Reds made mistakes from time to time, they developed such a high advantage (15:6) that no one, including their rivals, believed in turning the tide of the meeting. Despite a short-term surge of players from overseas and making up a few points, the second set ended with the victory of our volleyball players 21:15.
The semi-finals will be played on Sunday. The rivals of Biało-Czerwoni in the fight for a pass to the final will be the Czechs Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner, who defeated the Swedes David Ahman and Jonatan Hellvig 2:0 (26:24, 25:23) in the quarterfinals.
