Another Way Film Festival, The Madrid documentary film festival on sustainable progress with a national presence through its online format, will celebrate its ninth edition of the October 18 to 25. Its cinematographic programming 43 titles divided between documentaries, fiction films, short films and a three-part miniseriesthey add 5 parallel activities that help us reconnect with nature and with ourselves. They are destined both professionals and the entire family: visits to different parks and gardens in Madrid, a cultural mediation workshop, a gospel concert, a professional meeting, and a poetry show.

As a novelty in this edition, the Thursday 29, Friday 20, Sunday 22 and Wednesday 25 October will be celebrated “Parks and gardens of Madrid. “Urban oases to discover.” It is a free activity until capacity is reached in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Education of the Madrid City Council which in turn consists of six visits: The birds of the Dehesaan ornithological itinerary carried out by the Dehesa de la Villa Environmental Information and Education center; Hidden Gardens: from Cerro del Tío Pío to Palomeras Sculptural Route, carried out by Madrid Environmental; Pradolongo Park, tracking wildlife, carried out by the Maris Stella Environmental and Cultural Education Center; family organic garden workshop in El Retiro Park, carried out by the El Huerto del Retiro Environmental Information and Education Center, currently with full capacity although the waiting list is open;Unique trees next to the Meaques, carried out by the Casa de Campo Environmental Information and Education Center; and Hidden gardens: from Ópera to Atochacarried out by Madrid Environmental.
Another of the activities that will be carried out will be taller of cultural mediation: “Impact, impact, impact? Cultural mediation for participation and action”. He collective HOW Connect, composed of Arantza Martínez and Susana Galarreta, will perform a practical and reflective session on the possibilities of change and influence that we have as citizens. Different dynamics will be put in place to identify the connections between cinema, the climate crisis and the public. In addition, alternatives applicable to everyday life will be explored in order to help us become real agents of change. It will be on Saturday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Cineteca Madrid and the price is €10.
Music returns to the festival with “Another Café Gospel”, taught by singer and songwriter Ana Santa and the Soulful Voices choir. A combination of emotion and energy in which the audience is invited to sing and dance, invoking a special bond with which to feel alive, inspired and connected. It will be on Sunday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m. at La Cantina de Matadero.
The professional meeting From screen to action: the impact of documentary film” It is a unique opportunity to delve into the transformative power of this genre, where the French activist and filmmaker will participate Cyril Dion (a new world) next to Almudena Carracedo (The silence of others). It will be on Tuesday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the French Institute of Madrid in collaboration with DOCMA (Documentary Film Association in Spain), access is free until capacity is reached after registration.
