BOLZANO. Anpi Alto Adige moves house. The provincial committee of the National Partisans Association it will soon leave its headquarters at number 31 in via Torino to move to via Resia 64in the spaces that were once the first home of the cultural club of the PCI “Walter Masetti” and subsequently the headquarters of the Don Bosco Pd club. In short, an important place for the Bolzano left. The new headquarters, which is located a few tens of meters from the Bolzano concentration campwill kick off a new and important phase for Anpi Alto Adige.

«It will be a “House of Memory”»explains the president Guido Margheriwho gave the members the news of the transfer during the traditional exchange of greetings, which was also attended by the mayor Renzo Caramaschi. The objective is to create «a center of historical documentation, but also a center of initiatives for the concrete implementation of the values of the Constitution. Implementation that will take place through activities and initiatives. In short, we will look to the past, but also to the future, obviously in continuity with the work done in recent years, with a further leap in quality. We will still be a point of reference within a vast network of associations.” Anpi arrived at the headquarters in via Torino in 2016after moving from the “House of Associations” in Gries. The move has already begun, but will officially end in a few months, with the inauguration.

«It will be a positive investment in a wonderful area. The history of the offices coincides with various seasons of the Anpi” continues Margheri, to explain how the Anpi, established on 6 June 1944, officially promoted as a partisan association on 5 April 1945, has evolved over the decades, but without ever losing its founding values. Association which today has 153 thousand members throughout Italy. «Over 80 years after birth – explains Margheri – it is clear that the ANPI is no longer just a fighting association reserved for partisans and families of partisans, but Democrats, anti-fascists and anyone who identifies with the values of the Constitution can join it». The move and the new beginning will involve a considerable commitment and resources, both human and financial, will be needed. «We have already launched the appeal to friends and institutions to support us» explains Margheri. In the new headquarters in via Resia Anpi Alto Adige will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Liberation – to which the 2025 card is dedicated – and will be the place where important initiatives will be developed within the “Remember Festival” and the “Festival of Resistances” promoted from a wide network of associations and institutions.

How attentive the association chaired by Margheri is to the reality of the territory is demonstrated by the commitment that Anpi Alto Adige will make to promote respect for legality, with a clear reference to the recent scandals that have involved politics and business, in addition to the increasingly concrete dangers of mafia infiltration into the South Tyrolean economic fabric. Furthermore, the focus will always be on the development of coexistence and solidarity and on an autonomy that does not lose the guiding star of the implementation of constitutional principles. The commitment to peace, against wars, against racism and against discrimination, in particular gender discrimination, will remain constant and determined. In short, says Margheri, with its roots planted in the democratic values of the Italian Republic, the Anpi is more alive and alert than ever. And with the move to the new headquarters in via Resia, certainly not without difficulties, it promises to be even more active and protagonist of the South Tyrolean reality.
