The ‘Walton 4th National Women’s Sestoball Competition-2024’ has started today, Wednesday (August 21, 2024). In the morning, the two-day competition was inaugurated at the Captain Mansoor Ali Handball Stadium by the sponsoring company Walton Hi-Tech Industries Plc. Advisor (Sports) F.M. At this time Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force Assistant Director (Sports and Culture) Md. Humayun Kabir, Circle Adjutant (Sports and Culture) Md. Zakir Hossain, Senior Deputy Director of Walton Imran Al Bari, Senior Deputy Director. Sajjad Hossain, Vice President of Bangladesh Handball Federation Nurul Islam and General Secretary of Bangladesh Sestoball Association Jharna Akhtar and others were present.
The group stage and semi-final games were held on the opening day itself. Bangladesh Ansar and Zahirul Sporting Club reached the final from there. The two teams will face each other in the final on Thursday. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the champions, runners-up and third placed teams of the competition. Apart from this, the best players will be awarded.
In the first semi-final of the day, Ansar defeated Paran Makdoom by 20-14 points to enter the final. And in the second semi-final, Zahirul Sporting Club confirmed the final by defeating Narayanganj Sporting Club by 10-04 points.
The placement match was also held on this day. Paran Makdum became third after defeating Narayanganj by 08-04 points.
8 teams participated in the Walton 4th National Women’s Chesstoball Tournament. The teams are Bangladesh Ansar, Jamalpur District Sports Association, Zahirul Sports Academy, Dhaka District, Paran Makdum Sports Club, Narayanganj Sporting Club, Eden College and Mirpur Systoble Sports Academy.
8 teams were divided into two groups and first the group stage games were played. The top four teams from the group stage advance to the semi-finals. From there the two teams confirmed the final.
