The 3-day ‘Walton Open 12th Services (Men & Women) Wrestling Competition-2024’ is under the management of Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation and sponsored by Walton Hi-Tech Industries Plc.

A total of 13 gold medals were decided in the men’s and women’s categories on the second day of the competition today, Monday (February 19) at the Sheikh Russell Roller Skating Complex. In men’s category, Belal of Bangladesh Army won the gold by defeating Ujjal of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in 57 kg weight category. BGB’s Siraj won gold by defeating Sohrab of police in 65 kg. Ansar’s Dipu won the gold by defeating Army’s Mahfuz in 70 kg. Army’s Jewel won the gold after defeating BGB’s Al Rajeev in 74 kg.

Dipu of BGB won the gold by defeating Mir Abir of police in 79 kg. Ansar’s Ali Amjad won gold by defeating BGB’s Alamgir in 86 kg. BGB’s Abdur Rashid won the gold by defeating Ansar’s Khan Rakibul in 92 kg. Liton of Ansar won the gold by defeating Sohail of BGB in 125 kg.

Meanwhile, Ansar’s Rezia Sultana won the gold by defeating Army’s Taslima in the women’s category in 59 kg. Maryam of Ansar won the gold after defeating Mamni of Police in 62 kg. Ansar’s Dola Khatun won the gold after defeating Nasreen of Titus Gas in 65 kg. Army’s Irene won the gold by defeating Ansar’s Jyoti in 68 kg. Police’s Poppy won gold by defeating Army’s Farzana Mitu in 72 kg.

Tomorrow, Tuesday (February 20), the competition will start from 10 am and the prize distribution will be held at 12 noon.

In this competition, a total of 150 players are participating in 20 weight classes from the services teams in men’s and women’s categories.
