jpnn.com – Anthony Sinsuka Ginting got his revenge in style against French men’s singles player Toma Junior Popov when the two met in the first round of the 2024 Hong Kong Open.
Ginting eliminates Popov with victory rubber game with a score of 21-9, 12-21, 21-10 at the Hong Kong Coliseum, Wednesday (11/9/2024).
This is Ginting’s perfect revenge after previously losing to Popov in the group stage of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The defeat ended Ginting’s dream of winning a medal from the French capital. The Cimahi-born player was eliminated in the group stage.
Now, Ginting has managed to forget about that minor result, and defeated Popov in the first round of the 2024 Hong Kong Open.
The seventh seed in the BWF Super 500 tournament admitted that he already knew his opponent’s playing style, so he was able to win.
