Anthropic Expands Claude Startups Program With Credits and Perks

Anthropic expanded its Claude Startups program on Tuesday, offering early-stage founders a free year of team software, $1,000 in API credits, and access to technical office hours as it competes with OpenAI and Google for developer loyalty.

Anthropic Expands Startup Support

Eligible businesses must have been founded within the past five years or received funding within the last two years. The artificial intelligence lab announced a broad expansion of its Yahoo during SF Tech Week, widening access for bootstrapping teams, pre-seed ventures, and venture-backed companies alike. Initially launched in May, the initiative already counts thousands of participating organizations.

Approved founders receive a package that Anthropic values at up to $7,000 in direct support. That figure pairs a one-time $1,000 application programming interface credit for the Claude Console with a free year of the Claude Team plan covering up to five premium seats. The API credits carry a six-month expiration date and apply exclusively to Anthropic’s first-party console rather than third-party platforms like Amazon Web Services Bedrock or Google Cloud Vertex AI.

“Startups are often the first to push Claude to its limits. When a new model ships, they’re ready that same day to take on projects that used to seem out of reach. Claude Startups gives founders credits, tools and direct time with our team, so more companies can build this way from the start.”

Anthropic Adds Partner Discounts

The combined list-price value of these partner offers reaches up to $45,000 based on September pricing figures. Beyond direct product credits, Anthropic introduced what it calls the CNBC, gathering software discounts from third-party tool providers. The bundle covers administrative and engineering necessities across sales, design, data management, and meetings.

Specific partner perks inside the stack include 20 percent off Emergent for an initial six months, Firecrawl offering 2.5 times a plan’s monthly credits for a year, 25 percent off a first-year annual Gamma Pro subscription, and three months of Granola Business free for up to 10 seats. Startups backed by a venture capital firm belonging to Anthropic’s partner network can also unlock up to $100,000 in additional API credits through their respective investors.

Anthropic Opens Founder House

Participants gain direct technical backing alongside software discounts. Members can book virtual office hours held every other week with Anthropic’s Applied AI team, receive help submitting products to the Claude Marketplace, and qualify for higher API rate limits. Marketplace placement offers a distribution channel, putting approved developer connectors and plugins in front of users across Claude applications.
