Delhi: Nationwide protests by Muslims against the anti-Prophet statement. Clashes broke out between police and worshipers after Friday prayers. A curfew has been declared in the conflict-torn areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand. The Center has issued a warning to the states in the wake of the protests.

Protests erupted around noon demanding the arrest of BJP leaders who had made anti-Nabi remarks. The protests took place in Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Jharkhand and West Bengal. About 300 people took part in the protest in front of the Delhi Jama Masjid.

Jama Masjid Imam Shahi Imam said that Azuddin Owaisi was believed to be behind the protests and would not support the protesters. Delhi Police have said they will take action against those who protested without permission. Protests erupted in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Jharkhand. Police in riot gear stormed a rally in Prayag Raj in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck. Police applied tear gas. The protesters smashed a police vehicle. Several people were injured. 109 people were arrested.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed stern action against those who disrupt law and order. In West Bengal, there were widespread clashes in Howrah and Kolkata. Protesters set fire to a BJP office in Howrah. Protesters set fire to vehicles in Ranchi, Jakhand. Curfew declared in Ranchi Curfew imposed in Baderwa and Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir.

Protests are intensifying across the country against the anti-Nabi remarks. Protesters are demanding the arrest of those who made the remarks. The Center is stepping up vigilance in the wake of the protests.
