Police and National Armed Forces dismantle drug trafficking network in Manabí and capture leader of “Comandos de la Frontera”.
In the early hours of this Sunday, July 21, the Armed forces, the National Policeand with the support of USAcarried out a counter-terrorist military operation in the city of Manta.
Through a series of raids, they managed to apprehend six people, including a high-value military target known as Juan Ch. alias “Chabalo“This individual allegedly had ties to the organized armed group (GAO)”Border Commands”, involved in the drug trafficking route that connects Putumayo in Colombia with Sucumbíos and Manabí.
The operation, the result of an interagency effort, had the following results: six people arrested, two 9mm caliber firearms, 27 9mm cartridges, two 9mm magazines, a large amount of cash (to be determined), a DVR monitor, nine cell phones, a tablet, a high-end watch, and six vehicles retained for investigations, of which 03 are armored.
These individuals and the seized material were placed at the disposal of the National Police, in compliance with the respective judicial procedure. (EC)
