jpnn.comJAKARTA – The rapid growth of the capital market or investment sector needs to be balanced with data security aspects amidst the current onslaught of cyber attacks and also the threat of disasters.
Moreover, based on data from the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), the number of investors in the capital market reached 12.16 million people at the end of 2023.
To support this, PT IDX Solusi Teknologi Informasi (IDXSTI) and PT Dunia Virtual Online Tbk, the manager of the AREA31 data center facility, have formalized a strategic collaboration in providing Mediator Remote Trading Disaster Recovery as a Service (MRT DRaaS) services for Exchange Members.
“This service is designed following the standards of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and has been evaluated by the IDX to ensure that the system and data can be restored quickly, and the connection to the trading system returns to normal when a disaster occurs,” said IDXSTI President Director Syafruddin during the inauguration of the Mediator Remote Trading Disaster Recovery as a Service (MRT DRaaS) service cooperation at the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Tuesday (16/7).
These disaster conditions include earthquakes, floods, fires, terrorism, and cyber attacks such as ransomware.
MRT DRaaS is here as an alternative solution to the need for Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) facilities with managed services that help monitor and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure.
“The availability of facilities for system recovery during disaster or DRC conditions is absolutely necessary. We present MRT DRaaS as the solution,” he said.
When needed, IDXSTI’s infrastructure and DRaaS team can quickly respond to the need for recovery of the Exchange Member’s main system. Thus, business continuity and systems can be run again using existing facilities.
IDXSTI has prepared a Disaster Recovery Center with managed services as an effort to anticipate disasters.
