Antiquities Fraud Case; IG Lakshmana’s suspension extended

Thiruvananthapuram: The suspension of IG Lakshmana has been extended. The suspension was extended for three months. IG Lakshmana was suspended due to his relationship with Monson Mavunkal, the accused in the antiquities fraud case.

Nine months ago, IG Guguloth Lakshmana was suspended. It was decided to extend the suspension again as the departmental investigation against Lakshmana was not completed.

IG Lakshmana was suspended from service on November 10 last after it was found that IG Lakshmana had a close relationship with fraudster Monson Mavunkal. The crime branch had found that Monson had also stayed at the police club as a guest of IG Lakshmana.
