The decision to combine the new flagship chip from the Snapdragon series in a pair of models gives the Taiwanese manufacturer the top performance of the Android market, at least temporarily

The old Chinese performance test Antutu is not perceived as the most accurate and reliable on the market, but its great popularity nevertheless gives it value for us when ranking tables are published every month which shed light on the gradual improvement in the world of smart Android devices – and on the outstanding ones at the different pricing levels, based on averages of hundreds or thousands of results that entered the database as an alternative to specific unit results that tend to be referred to in many other tests.

In August 2022, the big winner is undoubtedly the Asus company, which lands two of its devices in the first pair of places in the flagship segment – the ROG Phone 6 and the Zenfone 9, both with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 that join the devices of -The various Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 that dominated this table during the last six months.

In all the first ten places in the table of flagship devices, you can find only one model that is not based on a Qualcomm processing chip – the Vivo X80 in the version with 256GB of internal storage and 12GB of dynamic memory (Antutu also considers memory performance in the final score it gives, on Yes, the most advanced models with the largest and fastest storage volumes tend to be the ones that bring the best and highest results) which is based on Mediatek’s Dimensity 9000, when Samsung and its Exynos chips seem to be completely out of the race in 2022.

In the rating of the premium subwoofers, which is becoming more and more popular in the shadow of the rapid and frequent price inflation of the most advanced models, control belongs precisely to Mediatek – the first two places with an average score of over 750,000 belong to the great Dimensity 8100, while in first place is the -OnePlus 10R (which has not arrived in Israel so far, unfortunately) with its Dimension 8100 Max model. The rest of the table contains relatively old Snapdragon 870 models that dominated the landscape before the launch of the Dimensity 8000 family a few months ago – and also a pair of Dimensity 1200 models in the last places of the rank as another reminder of the improvement of capabilities between 2021 and 2022.

In the table of mid-range models there are not many innovations for this month, with models with the Snapdragon 778G (and the Snapdragon 780G that preceded it and is almost identical) continue to dominate undisputedly, alongside a pair of flashes from the Dimensity 920 – the main innovation is in the first place that now belongs to Nothing The intriguing phone that was officially launched in Israel as well, with an average score of almost 580,000 which proves that it manages to produce a little more from the same processing unit that has been with us since the middle of last year. There is no doubt that consumers are thirsty for a jump in capabilities at these price levels, which should arrive together with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 towards the end of this year.
