Anu Power: Space for my body
First international retrospective of acclaimed Estonian artist Anu Põder (1947-2013) at Muzeum Susch, an institution dedicated to exhibiting and promoting the work of women artists, founded by Polish art collector Grażyna Kulczyk.
Its title, inspired by one of Põder’s sculptures, ‘Anu Põder: Space for My Body‘ brings together some forty works, from 1978 to 2012. Põder uses unconventional materials such as textile, wax, plastic, etc., to explore the identity and fragility of the human being in evocative sculptures.
The exhibition also provides a visit to an isolated museum, located in a 12th century monastery in an alpine landscape.
