Anyang City won the ‘Smart City Award’ at the 4th Industrial Revolution Power Korea Daejeon. Anyang City once again received attention by winning the ‘Smart City Award’ at the ‘2024 4th Industrial Revolution Power Korea Daejeon.’

The Power Korea Daejeon, now in its 9th year, is held annually to discover model cities that have achieved innovative growth through the convergence of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data, and to seek new growth engines for the future.

According to Anyang City on the 22nd, the Power Korea Daejeon Awards Ceremony, jointly hosted by the Korea Press Association and the National Assembly’s ‘Structural Reform Practice Forum for Sustainable Growth’, was held at 9:30 am on the 21st in the National Assembly Library’s main auditorium.

Anyang City, which received the Smart City Award that day, received high praise for its operation of a smart city integration center that focuses on 4th industrial revolution technology.

Anyang City Smart City Integrated Center is a key infrastructure facility that solves and manages problems in various fields such as transportation, crime prevention, forest fires, rivers, flooding, heavy snow, and urban management. It has been consistently modernized and activated for over 20 years, and was selected as a best practice.

In particular, Anyang City’s autonomous driving bus ‘Day and Night’, AI intersection, senior citizen safety service, safe return home service, and emergency vehicle priority signal, which are being promoted centered around the Smart City Integration Center, were evaluated as smart services that citizens can experience.

It was also mentioned that Anyang City has received both domestic and international certifications, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘Smart City’ certification, as well as the United Nations (UN) International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s ‘Smart City International Standard Certification.’

Anyang Mayor Choi Ma-ho said at the award ceremony held at the Smart City Integration Center at 4 p.m. that day, “This award is the result of continuous innovation using cutting-edge technology over the years,” and added, “We will continue to realize a ‘smart city’ that citizens can trust and present an exemplary example of a smart city.”
