Anyang City selects 4 winners of the 6th Youth Award

Anyang City has selected four winners of the 6th Youth Award. Anyang City announced on the 4th that it has confirmed the four winners of the ‘6th Anyang City Youth Award.’

The city selected Mr. Kim Seong-wook (34), CEO of Kalro Co., Ltd. in the industrial economy sector, Mr. Lee Bong-jun (36), social worker and volunteer Mr. Park Gi-yang (25), in the social welfare service sector, and Mr. Pyeon Jin-beom (25), CEO of Petinuniverse Co., Ltd. in the future innovation sector as the recipients of this year’s Youth Award.

Mr. Kim Seong-wook founded a company with a unique material called a data collection and analysis solution based on a social participation platform, and was selected as an excellent company in a public contest hosted by the Korea Institute for Startups and Startups, Anyang Industrial Promotion Agency, etc. He also signed a business agreement with Anyang Volunteer Center and has been actively engaged in social contribution activities such as helping vulnerable groups.

While working as a social worker at the Peace House social welfare corporation, Mr. Bongjun Lee was recognized for his contributions to improving the growth and development of children in facilities and to improving their self-reliance by conducting various programs necessary for child growth and development. He was also recognized for his contributions to improving the system and developing social welfare while serving as an advisory committee member for improving the functions of the Social Service Information System of the Korea Social Security Information Service.

Mr. Park Ki-yang is a volunteer for the non-profit organization Onki. Since 2018, he has been volunteering as a Onki postman for nearly 500 hours, responding to anonymous concerns through handwritten letters, and has worked to support the psychological stability and recovery of community members suffering from feelings of alienation or depression.

Mr. Pyeon Jin-beom has been leading technological advancements in the fields of expanded virtual world (metaverse) and information and communication technology (ICT) with his challenging spirit and innovative thinking, and has been evaluated as pioneering new markets, such as being selected for the preliminary startup package project hosted by the Korea Institute for Startup & Entrepreneurship Development with his expanded virtual world companion dog fashion show.

Anyang Youth Award is an award presented to young people who have set an example for the development of local communities and youth policies through their diligence, sincerity, and exemplary lifestyles in various fields of society since the enactment of the first Youth Award Ordinance in the country in 2019.

The city plans to hold an awards ceremony for the winners at the 5th Anyang Youth Festival to be held at Pyeongchon Central Park on the 7th.

Anyang Mayor Choi Ma-ho said, “I hope that young people will continue to demonstrate their outstanding abilities and lead the future development of Anyang City,” and “Anyang City will actively discover hidden talents and spare no support to help them grow further.”
