California: Agreed on nuclear-submarine fleet plan to counter China’s influence in Indo-Pacific region The US-Britain-Australia alliance has reached an agreement for the new project. The alliance has released details of the new plan.

Australia will receive at least three nuclear submarines from the US under the OCUS treaty. The Allies are also set to develop a new naval force with cutting-edge technology, including British-made Rolls-Royce reactors. But China has strongly criticized the alliance’s landmark naval deal.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry accused the three countries of ‘moving further down the path of error and danger.’ But US President Joe Biden said the deal was aimed at promoting peace in the region and that the submarines were nuclear-powered, not nuclear weapons.
