The meeting of Asia Pacific Forum (APF), a regional network of national human rights institutions, was held as part of the annual conference of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) in Geneva, Switzerland. In this, APF has assured support to the National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh to get the highest status ‘A Status’.

This information was informed in a press release of the National Human Rights Commission on Monday (May 6) afternoon.

It has been informed that the annual conference of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) is being held for three days from May 6 to 8 in Geneva, Switzerland. In the meeting, APF assured to strengthen the member national human rights institutions for the protection and development of human rights. In particular, ‘B’ status national human rights institutions are informed to play a special role for quality improvement.

In the meeting, the APF assured to support the National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh in obtaining the highest status ‘A Status’. In this regard, the commission is also assured to provide all kinds of technical assistance. The chairman of the commission. In the meeting, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights expressed special appreciation and gratitude for the strong role of the National Human Rights Commission in the current situation of Palestine.
