What you should know: The members of the professional association of mediators of Benin held their 4th ordinary General Assembly on Saturday September 16, 2023 at the headquarters of the CCI Benin. The objective of this meeting is to take stock of the activities carried out over the past year with the aim of making the Association visible in the national landscape, particularly in the business world. Gathered in the multipurpose room of the consular institution, the members of the APMB proceeded to adopt the activity reports for the 2022 financial year, examine and approve the accounts for the financial year 2022, the vote on the budget for the 2023 financial year and the election of the auditors.

What did they discuss: During the work, the president of the association Luc Martin Hounkanrin presented the moral report in which he congratulated and encouraged the various members of the association for their infallible efforts made to promote their crucible. He did not fail to highlight some difficulties and calls for an associative spirit for a good moral state of the organization. “I urge you to frank solidarity, fraternity and individual and collective commitment to promote the APMB in this national, regional and international country,” insisted President Luc Martin Hounkanrin. He says he is convinced that the APMB must be a launching pad and dissemination of the culture of Mediation. A mediation which according to him, is a new way of amicable conflict resolution and promising for the future. In this conflict resolution mission, the executive office of the APMB carried out several activities during the year 2022. According to the general secretary of the association, Elvire Vignon, this involved the holding of 8 meetings, of the meeting with the secretary general of the CCI Benin and the former minister of justice and legislation, Séverin Quenum. “The office also distributed the list of mediators to the courts of first instance of Cotonou and Porto-Novo, to the court of appeal of Cotonou and Abomey…” suggested SG Elvire Vignon. After her, the Secretary of Information, William Sourou presented the financial report for the year 2022, in place of the General Treasurer who was unable to attend.

Between the lines: The convivial exchanges allowed each member to make their contribution to the success of the session. Together they adopted several resolutions to carry out their activities for the 2023 financial year.
