Chennai: The hearing of the appeal filed by the OPS and its supporters against the decision of the single judge in the case seeking a ban on the AIADMK general committee resolutions and the election of the general secretary is coming up for hearing in the High Court today.

OPS and his supporters Manoj Pandian, Vaithilingam and J.C.D.Prabhakar had filed separate cases in the High Court seeking a ban on the resolutions passed in the AIADMK general meeting and the election of the AIADMK general secretary. Judge K. Kumaresh Babu, who heard these cases, had rejected the interim petitions filed by the OPS saying that the resolutions passed in the AIADMK General Committee will go.

Against this judgment of the single judge, 4 persons including OPS have appealed in the High Court. Only the appeal petition filed by OPS was listed and heard yesterday in the session comprising Justices R. Mahadevan and Mohammad Shafiq.

At that time, it was requested by the OPS that this appeal should be admitted for hearing without the certified copy of the order passed by the Single Judge. The judges accepted the request. On behalf of Manoj Pandian, Vaithilingam and Prabhakar, it was requested that their case should be taken up for hearing in the afternoon along with the case of OPS as they were also appealing and their petitions were not listed.

The judges refused to do so and said that if the petitions are numbered they will be listed for hearing. Then they ordered the registration department to list the appeals of 4 people including OPS together for hearing today (March 30).
