Apple accused of yet another patent violation

The South Korean company LS Cable & System has accused Apple of patent theft. This was reported by the Korean publication The Elec, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.

The plaintiff’s interests relate to patent US8013568, which describes wireless charging technology. The invention was registered in 2011. LS Cable & System believes that Apple is illegally using the patent and violating rights through the distribution of iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch.

The company said it discovered the first patent violation when studying the AirPower wireless charging device, introduced in 2017. However, the release of the device was later cancelled. Another unfair use of a patent in a Korean company was noticed a few years later, when they studied the wireless charging technology of Apple smartphones, headphones and smartwatches.

The plaintiff said that since 2019 he has been sending notices of patent infringement to the American corporation. However, Tim Cook’s company allegedly ignores the messages.
