Apple Aims for Record Sales with Upcoming iPhone 16

According to a report consulted by Bloomberg, Apple is gearing up for massive sales with its upcoming iPhone 16.
The company is reportedly planning to deliver a staggering 90 million units of the iPhone 16 worldwide in 2024, a 10% increase from the sales of the iPhone 15 at the end of 2023. With the new phone expected in September, Apple has just four months to achieve this ambitious goal.
Bloomberg journalists who reviewed the internal report described the target as “Apple is targeting the delivery of at least 90 million iPhone 16s in the latter part of the year, relying primarily on its AI services to fulfill demand for this new generation.”
While such a delivery number is impressive, it’s worth noting that it represents a significant increase from the 81 million units sold for the iPhone 15 at the end of 2023.
The reliance on AI services for demand fulfillment is also noteworthy. This feature is currently limited to the new iPhone 16 models, excluding the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
However, Apple’s plans may face challenges. The European DMA, a set of regulations, could potentially delay the release of AI features in European countries. It remains to be seen whether Apple will adjust its strategy to comply with these regulations.
