Apple closes downgrading iOS 16.0.2 after releasing iOS 16.0.3 update

After releasing iOS 16.0.3 last week, Apple has closed down the iOS 16.0.2 downgrade, which makes iOS 16.0.3 and iOS 16.1 beta the only versions of iOS 16 that can still be updated.

iOS 16.0.2 was released on September 22 and includes several bug fixes and security updates. This update fixes some issues affecting the iPhone 14 Pro lineup, including the rear camera shaking when taking photos with third-party apps. and the screen goes completely black during device setup.

Additionally, iOS 16.0.2 fixes a bug that resulted in some users experiencing excessive copy and paste permission requests, and Apple has turned off downgrading older versions of iOS. This prevents users from downgrading to an outdated version of the software.

iOS 16.1 is expected to be released next week alongside iPadOS 16.1 and macOS Ventura.
