Apple confirms that there is a malfunction in the iPhone 14 Pro camera

by time news

During the last few days, many users in the United States, who have already received the iPhone 14 Pro that they ordered from Apple, reported a disappointing malfunction: the camera, which was supposed to be a significant upgrade compared to the previous models, shows completely blurry images while making strange clicking noises. According to published estimates, it seems that this is a problem related to the optical stabilization system that only occurs when using third-party applications that have access to the camera such as Instagram or TikTok.

After a few days of being ignored, Apple confirmed the fault, clarifying that it is only a software problem, and not a manufacturing fault that would require the replacement of the device. An update to the operating system that should solve the problem is expected to be released during the next week according to Apple.

The various iPhone 14 Pro models include the most significant upgrade in years to Apple’s photo sensor, which has remained with the same megapixel resolution since 2015 and the iPhone 6S models. This year, Apple chose a relatively modern 48-megapixel sensor, which may explain why this time the company encountered difficulties and required repairs shortly after launch.

The basic iPhone 14 models remain with the same camera as the iPhone 13 models, and indeed – for the time being, no special malfunctions related to their photography performance are reported.
