Ive had spent the last three years running his own design company, LoveFrom. When he left the apple firm, he did so with a contract under his arm of more than 100 million dollars, for which he promised to continue helping to shape the devices that Apple has been launching on the market. The agreement would come with conditions, among them, the iPhone company would have the capacity to prevent its former chief designer from working for the competition.
The termination of the collaboration agreement would have been produced by the termination of the agreement and Apple’s decision not to extend it. According to people close to the matter, questioned by the American newspaper, everything was ready for Ive to plant the signature on a new contract; however, some company executives would have been unhappy with the costs of keeping the designer on the payroll. He even participated in the design of the Apple Park, the current headquarters of the technology company in Californian Cupertino.
The end of the creator in the company, as reported by ‘The Wall Street Journal’ in 2019, was caused, to a large extent, by the little interest of the current executive director of the company, Tim Cook, in the design of apple products bite.
