Apple has announced a recall for iPhone 12 devices: Is yours on the list?

by time news

For the second time this year: Apple has announced the recall of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices, which were created between October 2020 and April 2021, due to a technical malfunction in the speaker. According to Apple, a small percentage of devices have left the US when one component that affects the microphone in calls is defective. This causes outgoing calls, in relatively new devices, to be without sound.

As mentioned, Apple announced a free repair for those who were damaged by the fault in the US, the repair operation has been extended to the UAE. It is still unclear at this time whether there are also devices that have arrived in Israel or other countries. “When you receive or leave a call, you may be eligible for a free repair at an Apple Store or official distributor.”

However, they warned that a device that comes to recall when it suffers from another malfunction, will have to undergo repair for this malfunction – and only then will it be possible to check if there is a problem with the microphone.
