Apple has introduced its most powerful desktop computer: Mac Studio

by time news

Apple has surprisingly announced a completely new desktop computer and an advanced display that brings the desired feature from the iPad that will upgrade your video calls

We all hoped Apple would announce a new Mac Mini at the Peek Performance event. It did not happen.

But instead, Apple has announced a completely new Mac, the Mac Studio, which looks like a Mac Mini on steroids – with support for powerful processors, mountains of connections and quite a few holes for ventilation – and is designed for so-called “serious only”.

A desktop monster the size of a converter

The Mac Studio pretty much looks like two Mac mini computers stacked on top of each other, and comes in the shape of a 19.5cm square and 9.4cm high, so it can still sit easily on a desk and under standard screens. On its back you will find not only 4,000 aesthetic ventilation holes (which are also on the foot), but also 4 Thunderbolt 4 connections, an Ethernet connection with support of up to 10Gb, two USB-A connections, an HDMI connection, and so as not to be missing – also a headphone connection with monitor support And professional headphones. On the front you will also find two more USB-C ports and a memory card slot, so you do not have to mess with the connections on the back of the device every time. Along the way you will also get requested support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Inside, you can choose between two processors: the fine M1 Max we saw in the latest MacBook Pro and the M1 Ultra announced just today, which is basically about what happens when two Max processors are connected together. Apple claims that together with the new cooling system and structure of the Mac Studio, its excellent processors are able to achieve impressive performance. The Max version, it claims, has 2.5 times higher processing speed compared to a 27-inch iMac with 10 cores, 50 times faster than a Mac Pro with a 16-core Xeon processor, 3.4 times faster graphics performance compared to an iMac and 3 times faster Fast compared to Mac Pro.

In the Ultra version, Apple claims that the processing speed jumps by 3.8 compared to the 27-inch iMac, 90% faster than the Mac Pro with 16 cores and 60% faster than the Mac Pro with 28 cores. In the graphics segment, it should be 4.5 times faster than the iMac. The Max version supports up to 64GB of RAM and up to 32 GPU cores, while the Ultra version can already upgrade you to 128GB of RAM and up to 64 GPU cores. The storage volume also does not remain standard and can reach speeds of up to 7.4GB / s and a volume of up to 8 terabytes. In short – this is supposed to be a performance monster.

Apple claims that no matter what you load it, it will remain completely quiet and consume 1000 kilowatts an hour less per year compared to other powerful desktops. The Mac Studio in the M1 Max version starts at $ 1,999, while the M1 Ultra version starts at $ 3,999.

Apple has also announced new iPhone SE and iPad Air

But you do not lack a screen? There is that too

The Mac Studio comes of course without a screen, so whether you want to connect it, or your other founders, you can do it with the new screen that Apple unveiled today: Studio Display. This is a 27-inch 5K display that can reach 600 rivets. Apple claims to have a successful anti-reflective coating, but if you will, they have another “nano” coating that fits For offices For studios with strong lighting.

The new display comes with a stand that allows tilting up to 30 degrees, but Apple will also offer you another stand that allows you to raise and lower the screen easily (or you can just hang it with a standard VESA adapter).

Surprisingly, inside the screen awaits you an A13 processor, which connects well with the new 12 MP camera which is an ultra-wide camera. And you know what that means – for the first time, Apple is bringing Center Stage, the feature that keeps you in the center of the frame in video calls, from the iPad to the founder. The Studio Studio is also equipped with 3 microphones, 4 woofers for deep low tones and 2 tweeters for immediate sounds and high notes – with support for Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos for 3D sound.

The display comes with 3 USB-C ports to which you can connect accessories, but also with a Thunderbolt port so you can chain your Mac and provide it with the power it needs to charge and operate while projecting the image. The display supports charging of up to 96W, and you can connect up to 3 displays to one Pro bottle, but you should prepare your wallet.

The Studio Display will sell for $ 1,599. What Apple did not tell you at the event is that for the “Nano” version you will have to pay $ 1,899 and for a version with the stand that will allow you to raise and lower the screen, you will already have to pay $ 1999.

Given that the Mac Studio is actually a well-upgraded Mac mini, now the only Apple Macs that have not yet switched to the M1 are the iMac 27 Inch and the Mac Pro. At least for the Mac Pro, Apple said the announcement would come at a later date. We’ll probably have to wait for WWDC 2022 to find out what she’s preparing for us.
