AI feature or Apple Intelligence may not be ready in time for iPhone 16 Series launch
According to a report from Bloomberg News, the readiness of the Apple Intelligence feature may be delayed. Sources indicate that the AI feature will not launch alongside the new iPhone models in September, specifically the iPhone 16 Series, and may follow later through a software update in October.
Reports suggest that Apple has not yet delivered the AI feature to software developers, but it is expected to arrive this week via iOS 18.1 beta and iPadOS 18.1 beta. This service was first introduced at WWDC last June and will be available on all new devices using A17 and M Series chips.
Additionally, some older models, such as the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max smartphones, all iPad Pro tablets launched after April 2021, and all iPad Air tablets launched after March 2022, will also receive the AI feature.
Last month, Apple reported that its AI feature might be delayed due to European Union technology regulations. Apple stated that Phone Mirroring, SharePlay Screen, and Apple Intelligence would not be available to users in the EU in 2024 due to regulatory uncertainty arising from the EU’s DMA (Digital Markets Act).
EU regulators want Apple to ensure that the products and services of competitors can also work with iDevices. However, Apple has expressed concerns that “interoperability requirements may affect the integrity” of its products, potentially risking user privacy and data security.
