Apple released iOS 16 last month, and shortly after updating to the latest iOS versions, some users complained that their phones were constantly asking for permission when they tried to paste something into an app.
This was due to a security feature in iOS 16 that was designed so that no sensitive information would be accidentally leaked. However, the feature reportedly annoyed users, as Apple fixed the issue in the iOS 16.0.2 update and it looks like iOS 16.1 will provide a revised version of the feature. .
The Paste Clipboard permission feature in iOS 16 asks users for their consent when an app tries to access the clipboard, and it was designed as a security feature to make iOS 16 users aware that the content they’re trying to paste might store sensitive information, however, users seem to be annoyed by the frequent popup For permission every time they tried to paste text from another app.
Reports indicated that an Apple executive acknowledged the problem and said that the feature was not supposed to behave this way, the company released bug fixes in the iOS 16.0.2 update.
What’s new in iOS 16.1
iOS 16.1 brings an improved version of the Clipboard Paste feature, and according to Macrumors, in the new iteration, “a new ‘Paste from other apps’ menu appears for apps that have previously requested permission to paste content from another app,” the menu can be accessed in the Settings app > [اسم التطبيق]> Paste from other apps.
The menu offers three options:
Ask: This will force the app to keep asking for permission to paste content from other apps.
Deny: The app will not be allowed to paste content from other apps.
Allow: The app can paste content from other apps without asking for permission again.
This essentially gives users finer control over this security feature and makes it less annoying at the same time. iOS 16.1 is currently in beta and is expected to arrive on iPhones later this month.
