◆ Recording calls and converting them to text… AI function ‘Intelligence’ debuts
At the event, Apple will reveal specific details about the iPhone 16 series. The most notable part is the operating system (iOS). Apple said that iOS 18, which will be installed on the iPhone 16 series, will be equipped with its own AI function, ‘Apple Intelligence’. Notable functions include call recording and summarization.
Some of the features were previously announced through the release of the iOS 18 beta version. The iPhone has not provided a call recording function so far. The call recording function was only provided on Android smartphones.
Apple also appears to have changed its strategy as the technology to convert recorded phone calls into text and provide a summary function has spread through Samsung Electronics.
Apple will also provide a function that converts the content into text using AI along with the call recording. However, the difference is that there will be a message that informs the other party that a call is being recorded.
A similar feature to the photo editing feature provided by Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy AI is also added. It is a feature that allows AI to remove unwanted parts from a photo. However, this intelligence feature is expected to be provided through an October update, not when the iPhone 16 is released. It is also expected that new features will be added in line with the update.

◆ Camera array ‘in a row’… Possibility of price increase also raised
There are also expected to be some minor changes in appearance. According to various IT tipsters (information leakers), a physical camera button is likely to be added first. The camera lens is expected to have improved performance with a larger image sensor. The rear camera arrangement is also likely to change.
