Apple is changing the pricing of apps in the store

by time news

Apple has announced a change in its app store, allowing developers to display prices in a larger range than before. Thus, instead of a fixed starting price of $0.99, developers will be able to choose one of 900 different pricing points, starting from $0.29 and up to $10,000. While this option was open to fixed fee subscription services, it has now been applied to apps as well.

As Apple noted on its website, paid apps and one-time in-app purchases can now also benefit from the new price points. “These options also offer greater flexibility, and are gradually distributed across price ranges,” says the company.

In addition, Apple will now allow developers to set equal prices worldwide that “follow the most common pricing conventions in each country or region.” This means that apps and in-app purchases can be priced more relevantly for users in different regions. There is also an option to cancel the automatic adjustment of the price to the local value to take into account tax increases or currency fluctuations.

These changes are already available to developers worldwide.
