Several sources mentioned the new AirPods headphones coming during the next Apple keynote in September.
New AirPods in preparation at Apple? This is a crazy rumor that has been circulating for several weeks around the company’s next event. Apple’s bug on Monday September 9 should reveal a new feature iPhone 16but also more or less anticipated products with, among these, the new AirPods wireless headphones.

These are not one, not two, but three AirPods models that could well be revealed during the next Apple keynote. This rumor is particularly important by many experts in the field such as Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo, respectively a reporter for Bloomberg and a major Apple analyst. According to the latter, Apple is planning three different models of AirPods:
- AirPods 4. These will also have an “open” design and will succeed the third generation launched in 2021.
- The new version of AirPods 4 whose name is unknown. It will take the design of the classic AirPods 4, but add the noise reduction function as you can find on the AirPods Pro.
- AirPods Max 2. Certainly among the most anticipated announcements as the first generation (launched in 2020) is behind the competition with its Lightning port and heavy weight. Two parts that should be fixed with the next generation.
A few weeks ago, we also talked about the new technology for the upcoming AirPods. Apple would like to add an infrared camera system to its next headphones to greatly improve the audio technology of AirPods.
The addition of such technology may, however, affect the price of these new AirPods 4 and we will have to wait until Apple’s key on September 9 to find out more about them.
