With a keynote scheduled for the start of the 2024 school year, potentially on September 10th, Apple plans to introduce its new generation of smartphones: the iPhone 16. With a plethora of rumors, the technical specifications are clearly known, both in terms of hardware innovations and software additions.
One piece of information has remained relatively discreet over the past few months: the price. Apple Hub finally shared some estimates on Twitter/X on August 17, 2024, in an image summarizing the novelties of the range.
We thus discover the following price list in the United States:
- iPhone 16: 799 dollars
- iPhone 16 Plus: 899 dollars
- iPhone 16 Pro: 1,099 dollars
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: 1,199 dollars
Thus, the Apple firm would have made only a single price increase compared to its current range. Indeed, only the price of the iPhone 16 Pro differs from that of the iPhone 15 Pro, with an increase of 100 dollars.
To explain this evolution, one might think of the arrival of a size change on this model: the periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. Indeed, this new component was exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, thus leaving the iPhone 15 Pro without the main photo novelty of the last generation.
Regarding the pricing impact in euros, we could expect an iPhone 16 Pro to be at least 90 euros (conversion from 100 dollars to euros) higher than the price of 1,229 euros for the iPhone 15 Pro. Taking into account the current price gap between the two Pro models (200 euros), a price between 1,319 € and 1,379 € seems more than conceivable.
As a reminder, Apple’s September 2024 keynote should also be the occasion to discover new Apple accessories: the Apple Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra 3, as well as the AirPods 4.
