Apple will not stop supporting older iPhones when the new iOS releases in 2025. This was reported by sources of the French iPhoneSoft blog, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.
Insiders said that iOS 19 will work on the same smartphones as iOS 18. Thus, Apple will continue the trend of expanded device support with updates. Journalists noted that iOS 18, introduced in 2024, supported the same devices as iOS 17.
However, older devices that do not have 8 gigabytes of RAM will not be able to run artificial intelligence (AI) functions. Apple launched its Apple Intelligence neural network at the end of the year, a few months after the release of iOS 18. Sources also disclosed information that the IT giant will adhere to the same OS release schedule as before: the new iOS will be presented in the summer, the public version will be released in the fall .
Insiders noted that iPadOS 19, which will also be released in 2025, will only work with tablets with an A12 processor or a newer chip.
