Apple continues to ignore a bug in the macOS operating system that causes audio balance to shift on Mac computers under certain circumstances. This problem was officially recognized by Apple back in 2012, but has not yet been fixed, writes MacRumors, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.

The problem was recalled by a user of the social network X (formerly Twitter), who admitted that he had to use a third-party application to correct the sound balance for 10 years. The first complaints about this bug appeared on the Internet more than ten years ago, when a 2003 Mac user discovered oddities in the sound of his computer.

In OS X 10.2 support documentation published on February 12, 2012, Apple confirmed the existence of this bug and explained its cause. According to the company, in some cases the audio balance may shift towards the left or right channel due to high load on the microprocessor.

As a temporary solution, Apple has suggested that users manually adjust the sound, however, this does not eliminate the root of the problem. Apparently, Apple has never found a way to completely get rid of this bug, since it still occurs among Mac users.
