Apple Expected to Unveil Smaller Mac Mini This Year
According to a report by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to release a new and significantly smaller version of the Mac Mini this year. This would represent the largest design change in the Mac Mini series to date.
The new Mac Mini, based on the Apple M4 chip, is expected to be much smaller than the current model and will be closer in size to the company’s Apple TV streamer. It will also be thicker than the current design.
The report suggests that the new Mac Mini will be referred to internally as an ”iPad Pro M4 compressed” and will be available in both a regular M4 version and a more powerful version based on the yet-to-be-announced Apple M4 Pro chip.
The new Mac Mini is expected to be part of a complete line of solutions based on the Apple M4, with new iMac and MacBook Pro models also expected to be released later this year. Additionally, new MacBook Air laptops are expected in the second quarter, while Mac Pro and Mac Studio computers are rumored to be delayed until the second half of 2025.
