Apple plans to release a new version of the Mac mini computer based on its proprietary M4 chip.
As reported by Day.Az with reference to Bloomberg, the new product will become the most compact computer in the company’s history.
According to the source, the new Mac mini will be noticeably different from previous models and will be the smallest PC in Apple’s history.
It is noted that the design of Mac mini computers has not changed dramatically since 2010. The device has always been a small, low box with the Apple logo on top.
The new M4-based Mac mini will be about the same size as the Apple TV, but will have a slightly taller chassis to accommodate the cooling system.
For comparison, the current generation Apple TV is 31 mm tall, while the current Mac mini is 35.8 mm tall, making the height difference insignificant. The new product will be made of aluminum.
The MacBook Pro lineup with Apple’s proprietary M4 chip is rumored to retain the same design, making the Mac mini the only device to feature the updated design.
The presentation of the new Mac mini is expected this year, but the exact dates have not yet been disclosed.
