On September 9 (US time), Apple announced its flagship new smartwatch, the “Apple Watch Series 10.” It features a new slim design, a larger display, and a sleep apnea detection function.
A major highlight of the Apple Watch Series 10 is its new display and design. The display area has increased by up to 30% compared to Series 4, 5, 6, and SE, and its brightness is up to 40% brighter when viewed from an angle. In addition to the glossy aluminum finishes in jet black, rose gold, and silver aluminum developed for Series 10, a new titanium finish model, which is about 20% lighter than the stainless steel model of Series 9, will also be available.
The Apple Watch Series 10 has a thickness of 9.7mm, making it thinner than the Series 9. To achieve this slim design, Apple has made several design changes, including adopting a new metal back.
Furthermore, charging speed has improved, allowing for charging up to 80% in 30 minutes. Apple is also emphasizing audio capabilities with Series 10, claiming it delivers clearer calls and improved music playback through the speaker.
Health has always been a major focus for the Apple Watch. This time is no exception, as a sleep apnea detection feature has been added.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is available for pre-order starting at $399 (¥59,800 in Japan), with a scheduled release date of September 20.
