Apple is working on a subscription service that would allow users to access devices designed by the Cupertino-based company as if they were signing up for a subscription service. According to ‘Bloomberg’, a medium that quotes close sources familiar with the company’s plans, the technology company led by Tim Cook Thus, it is studying the design of a service that would allow customers to access Apple products in exchange for a monthly fee.

The media highlights that Apple’s idea is to make the process of buying an iPhone or an iPad similar to accessing iCloud storage or using Apple Music. Also services like Spotify or Netflix. In fact, those from Cupertino would have planned to allow their users to use the same Apple ID and the same App Store account to subscribe to this new service.

From ‘Bloomberg’ this subscription service is compared to a kind of rental of the device in question for as long as it is subscribed. In addition, Apple is considering introducing the possibility for the user to change it for a new model.

There is talk that such a subscription service may become a reality by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023, although it is not ruled out that it may even be canceled. If confirmed, it would be one more bet by Apple for a membership-based model, as Apple Music, Apple Arcade and Apple TV Plus, among others, already do.

Currently, the sale of iPhones is the main source of income for the company, which entered 192,000 million dollars in 2021 thanks to its flagship device, a figure that represents more than half of its annual turnover.
