Apple Watch will get gesture control

by time news

Apple has announced new features for its Watch that will allow you to control the device without touching the screen.

Apple Watch will get AssistiveTouch, which uses built-in sensors – gyroscope and accelerometer, optical heart rate sensor – and machine learning to control the watch. A set of technologies will allow the device to recognize subtle differences in muscle movement and tendon activity, turning them into control actions.

In particular, by clenching and unclenching your fist, you can control the cursor on the screen, accept and reject calls, work with the notification center and the Apple Watch control center. New features will appear in the watch following the release of the next version of the watchOS 8 operating system.

AssistiveTouch is said to be part of an enhanced functionality designed to make it easier for people with disabilities to use the device. So, for iPad tablets, there will be support for eye tracking devices, which will allow you to control the cursor with your eyes and press buttons while holding eye contact.

We will remind, earlier it became known that the annual World Conference of Developers (WWDC) in 2021 will be held on June 7-11. The event will present the final versions of new generations of operating systems for Apple devices. In particular, iOS 15 for iPhone smartphones, iPadOS 15 for iPad tablets, macOS 12 for Apple laptops and computers, watchOS 8 for smart watches and tvOS 15 for the Apple TV multimedia set-top box will be shown.
