The head of the American corporation Apple, Tim Cook, will consider the possibility of moving the production of gadgets to Indonesia.
As Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru, Bloomberg reports this.
Cook said this after a conversation with Indonesian President Joko Widodo. He visited this country as part of his Asian tour. “We’ve talked about the president’s desire to see manufacturing in the country, and we’ll look at that,” Cook told local reporters. The head of Apple emphasized that investment opportunities in Indonesia are limitless.
According to observations by Bloomberg journalists, the corporation has found a new country for organizing production. Apparently, in the coming years, Apple will transfer part of its production from China to a new region. Recently, the company has been trying to reduce its dependence on the country, including due to economic disagreements between Beijing and Washington.
The material says that Tim Cook also promised to open his production to the leaders of Vietnam. According to experts, Cook is not only looking for a way to diversify production, he hopes to increase Apple’s presence in the Southeast Asian market, which has more than 650 million consumers.
