Apple has planned to release OLED-based MacBook Pro laptops without a notch. This was reported by 9to5Mac with reference to the Omdia company, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.
Insiders have received a roadmap that describes the IT giant’s plans to release new computers. According to the disclosed data, Apple will introduce the first MacBook Pro with OLED screens in 2026. The devices will lose the “unibrow” that first appeared on the brand’s computers in the fall of 2021.
Probably, the screen cutout for the front camera will be replaced with a simple hole, which will increase the usable screen area. Journalists also believe that Apple engineers can implement in the MacBook Pro an analogue of the Dynamic Island cutout in the iPhone. The company intends to introduce 14-inch and 16-inch models.
The report also states that the iPad mini will receive an OLED display at the end of 2026, the iPad Air in 2027. Affordable MacBook Air laptops will be released with an OLED display in 2028, but will remain with a monobrow. Judging by the roadmap, Apple should release a secret device with a foldable OLED display in 2028, details about the device have not been disclosed.
