This week I have been busy enough to cover everything that has happened, but one of the hot topics has been the ban on selling the iPhone 12 in France. The country’s government claims that it emits more radiation than permitted when attached to the body, so there are doubts about its impact on the body. Obviously Apple has assured that this is nonsense and that it complies with all regulations, but given the possibility that France will force it to return the money to all buyers, it has devised a plan: an update of firmware.

With it, Apple would limit the transmission power and therefore would have to comply with the French government’s way of measuring electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones. But, obviously, if you limit the power of the antennas, the iPhone 12 will have worse coverage. France has indicated that when the update is available it will proceed to reassess the radiation emitted. The governments of Belgium and Denmark have assured that in their tests the iPhone 12 does have electromagnetic radiation within the recommended parameters.
