Apple is considering canceling the production of the iPhone SE – a relatively small and discounted model, according to the forecast published by the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is known for his accurate predictions. The device that is “in the sights” of the company is the iPhone SE4, and according to the analyst – Apple is expected to delay its launch until at least 2024, or even cancel it.
According to him, the reason for this is the low demand recorded for the recently announced SE model. He estimated that postponing the announcement would help the company reduce “unnecessary expenses for the development of new products”.
As mentioned, the SE is a relatively discounted iPhone model, equipped with a smaller screen – compared to the company’s other models. The latest model was launched in March 2022, and its design is identical to that of the iPhone 8 and includes an Apple A15 Bionic processor.
If the device is not cancelled, it is expected, according to the latest reports, to use the design of the iPhone XR from 2018 – without a home button and without a border, so that it will also adopt the facial recognition sensor (Face ID). It was also reported that the screen is expected to be a 6.1-inch LCD type, alongside an A16 bionic processor and a single photo sensor at the back.
