Apple’s Wonderlust Event: Rumored iPhone 15 and New Apple Watches Expected

by time news

Today is Apple’s highly anticipated Wonderlust event, where the tech giant is expected to announce the rumored iPhone 15 and new Apple Watches. The event will be live-streamed starting at 10 a.m. PDT/1 p.m. EDT, marking Apple’s first event since unveiling the Vision Pro at WWDC earlier this summer. The annual fall iPhone event has become a cultural landmark signaling the end of summer.

For months, there has been a constant stream of iPhone 15 rumors circulating online. Some suggest minor upgrades, while others hint at a rebranded larger Pro model called the iPhone 15 Ultra. The event’s invite, with its enigmatic Apple logo made up of dustlike particles, has sparked speculation and curiosity. The grooved cutouts in the logo, the colors, and the tagline “Wonderlust” suggest potential design changes and improved cameras in the upcoming devices, but it remains unclear.

As for the iPhone 15 lineup, it is expected to consist of four models: the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will essentially be repackaged versions of the iPhone 14 Pro, with some features omitted. They will likely feature a 48-megapixel main camera, the A16 chip, and a new Dynamic Island cutout, replacing the display notches.

The iPhone 15 series is also rumored to support 15-watt wireless charging using the Qi2 open standard. This could potentially expand compatibility with a wider range of wireless charging devices. The most significant change, though, will be the shift away from the Lightning connector to a USB-C port, likely influenced by EU regulations adopted by Apple.

For the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, the most notable developments are the shift to a titanium frame instead of stainless steel, a new A17 chip with a 3-nanometer processor, and potentially thinner display bezels. The Pro models will also feature a USB-C port that supports faster data speeds and may include a 6x optical telephoto camera for enhanced zoom capabilities.

Regarding the Apple Watch, the Series 9 is expected to be a modest update to the Series 8, potentially featuring a new pink color and powered by a new S9 chip for improved performance and efficiency. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Ultra may receive a second-generation version with a faster chip and a black titanium finish.

All eyes are on Apple as fans and tech enthusiasts eagerly await the Wonderlust event to see what innovative products and features they will unveil. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements from Apple’s fall event.
