Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has issued new guidelines for the appointment of temporary teachers in government schools.

The Department of School Education had ordered to fill 13,331 vacant teaching posts in government schools in Tamil Nadu through the School Management Committee on temporary basis. Strong objections were expressed by the graduates, teachers and various parties and organisations. In this case, the school education department and all district primary education officers were ordered to suspend temporary teacher appointments.

And a case was filed in the High Court regarding these appointments. In this case, according to the High Court order, the school education department has issued new guidelines regarding the appointment of teachers. Full details of these guidelines:

* Only vacant posts to be filled till 01.06.2022.

* Candidates should submit the applications to the District Education Officer.

* The District Education Officer should forward the applications to the Headmaster of the school seeking temporary appointment.

* Must have educational qualification as per rules of Tamilnadu Govt.

* In case of receiving more than one application Preference will be given to candidates who have passed TET with educational qualifications and are working as volunteers in Housing Education Scheme.

* This appointment is purely temporary

* Transfer The person employed on temporary arrangement shall be released from service on the same day as the vacancy is filled up by other formal appointments.

* If the work and conduct are not satisfactory, they will be dismissed immediately.

* Applications can be submitted to the District Education Officer from 4th to 6th.
